Chevron CREATE Transfer Program

Through a strategic collaboration between the Bagley College of Engineering and the Chevron Corporation, our CREATE Transfer Program offers invaluable support to transfer students transitioning from community college to Mississippi State University's Starkville and Gulf Coast Campuses.

Our mission is clear: to enhance student retention, facilitate a smooth transition from community college to a four-year institution, and elevate the academic performance of students from diverse backgrounds. This inclusive program is open to all MSU transfer students, with a special focus on increasing participation among women and students from underrepresented racial minority groups.

Key program components include:

• A comprehensive Extended Orientation held in late May before enrollment at MSU, tailored specifically for engineering transfer students.
• Supplemental Instruction provided throughout the academic year for courses with the highest DFW rates (Defined as "W" for withdrawal and letter grades of D or F).
• Personalized, supplemental academic advising available throughout the academic year to support students' academic journey.
• Peer mentors and transfer-student events offered throughout the academic year to foster a supportive community and facilitate networking among peers.
• Insightful industry visits to tour Chevron facilities, offering valuable insights into the engineering profession.
• Engaging mixers with Chevron professionals, providing opportunities for students to connect with industry experts and gain invaluable career insights.
