The Summer Bridge Program is a five-week program sponsored by Ergon. The program is designed to help incoming engineering students adjust to university life and be successful once they enroll in their engineering degree program. Summer Bridge is held in the summer prior to attending MSU and includes coursework in mathematics, science, and engineering. Peer mentoring, undergraduate research, and social activities are also part of the program.
Through a strategic collaboration between the Bagley College of Engineering and the Chevron Corporation, our CREATE Transfer Program offers invaluable support to transfer students transitioning from community college to Mississippi State University's Starkville and Gulf Coast Campuses. Our program spans across both the Starkville and Gulf Coast Campuses, with a clear mission to improve student retention and promote academic success in engineering.
Through a strategic collaboration between the Bagley College of Engineering and the Chevron Corporation, our CREATE Peer Mentoring and Professional Development programs provide personalized guidance and support from experienced peers to navigate their academic and professional journey. Through one-on-one mentoring sessions, workshops, and networking opportunities, participants gain valuable insights, skills, and connections to excel in their chosen field and prepare for future career success.
The Louis Stokes Mississippi Alliance for Minority Participation (LSMAMP) is funded by the National Science Foundation. As a member of the Mississippi Alliance, MSU is one of nine universities and colleges across Mississippi that is promoting the LSMAMP model of broadening the participation of underrepresented minority students in STEM and working to reduce the rate of attrition among this student population.
